Welcome to Word UnHindered

The very last word in the book of Acts in the New Testament is "unhindered" in the original language. The apostle Paul had wanted for a long time to come to Rome, and he had finally made it. There was only one problem. He was under house arrest. But in spite of being a prisoner, the scripture tells us that He was able to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom, without hindrance, or unhindered. I have wanted to experiment with this concept of communication that everyone keeps talking about, the blog.

I have been amazed at the opportunity to chat on line with people on the other side of the world, and if there was ever a time that God's Word had the opportunity to be shared worldwide without hindrance, it is certainly is today.

In the last few weeks someone in our church commented on the effectiveness of the worship time and even the sermons. When together we explored why that reality was suddenly apparent, the only explanation I could come up with is that perhaps somehow I had managed to get out of God's way. I wonder how often our life, or our effort to help God out, or even the baggage we tote around hinders the communication of God's Word. What if we could get the message out without hindrance?

Missiologists tell us that at least 1.2 billion people in our world have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How many millions, if not billions, more have never heard the real message of the Gosple in an understandable way because of hindrances and obstacles that we put in their way?

How many people have looked at labels like "christian" and thought of negative images and narrow minded points of view and as a resuslt were never able to see past that to hear Jesus' words?
My hope is that from time to time on this blog site to stir up interest and create conversation that will provide a channel for the Gospel message of Jesus Christ (see I Cor. 15:3-4) to be communicated in a way that is unhindered.

I am new to this and will probably mess it up. Not the Gospel, although when I get in its way I can mess it up. But new to this concept of "blogging". Probably by the time I figure it out, there will be something else that has everyone's interest. Maybe no one will read it. Maybe one or two. Maybe, someone, somewhere, somehow will hear the Gospel, and that will make it worthwhile.
